Will Pausing of J&J COVID-19 Vaccine Increase Vaccine Hesitancy?
“We are going to have a steep climb back.”
NEW YORK – April 16, 2021 – “The CDC-FDA’s April 2020 pausing of the J&J COVID-19 vaccine following isolated blood clots will have a lasting effect on vaccine hesitancy,” Mobile Health CEO Andrew Shulman said in an interview with NBC LX News. “Even prior to the pause, Mobile Health saw 20 percent of scheduled appointments refuse the J&J vaccine, due to misinformation,” he said. The J&J single shot vaccine has been intended for rural areas, where vaccine hesitancy is higher. “We are going to have a steep climb back (from vaccine hesitancy), but President Biden assures us we’ll have plenty of Pfizer and Moderna vaccine.”

NEW YORK – April 12, 2021 – “While it’s appropriate to celebrate rising vaccination rates, the alarming number of COVID-19 cases means it’s too soon to let up on COVID-19 testing,” Mobile Health Andrew Shulman told Sirius XM radio host Laura Coates on The Laura Coates Show. “You can still get COVID-19 and transmit the virus even if you’re vaccinated – even though symptoms and severity will be much reduced,” he said. “Until we reach herd immunity level of 70 to 90 percent, we need to be extra vigilant and continue testing to identify more virulent strains.” The Biden administration has allocated $10 billion for COVID-19 testing in schools, he noted.
